Kite was born on October 5th 2005 at Dolfinarium Harderwijk and is the son of Lucy. When he was going to be named a naming contest was held where people could vote for the following names: Baia, Sol, Ebbe, Salt, Mare, Luna, Arene, Ola, Aqua and Kite. When Kite was almost three years old, on September 25th 2008, he was moved from Dolfinarium Harderwijk to Allwetterzoo together with Palawas and Rocco. At that time Allwetterzoo already had two male bottlenose dolphins named Nando and Nemo and a tucuxi named Paco but only four days after Kite, Palawas and Rocco’s arrival to Allwetterzoo Nemo was moved to Dolfinarium Harderwijk.
Today Kite lives at Allwetterzoo together with Palawas, Rocco and Nando and like the three other dolphins he is participating in the park’s dolphins shows.
