Kaylee
was born on September 17th 1993 at Brookfield Zoo and was the daughter
of Tapeko and Nemo. When she was 8 years old, in 2001, Kaylee gave birth to her
first calf named Micco. Two years later Kaylee also got a halfsister when her
mother gave birth to a little female named Noelani. Micco and Noelani became
good friends and played much with each other. In 2005 Kaylee became ill and was
taken to a hospital to be examined. After a while she became healthy again but
in spring 2009 she got ill again. This time Kaylee became so ill that
Brookfield Zoo’s dolphin trainers and veterians decided to euthanize her.
Kaylee was euthanized in the morning of April 3rd 2009.
Kaylee
measured 2,5 meters and weighed 188,2 kilograms (weight and length a couple of
years ago).
