Noelani was born on October 30th 2003 at Brookfield Zoo and is the daughter of Tapeko and Lucky. Since Tapeko had problems during Noelani’s birth the dolphin trainers had to help Tapeko. At birth Noelani weighed 13,6 kilograms.
When Noelani was about two years old she got a halfsister named Allison. A little more than two years after that (in January 2008) Noelani’s uncle Micco unfortunately passed away. Micco was just two years older than Noelani and Noelani loved to play with him. In March 2008 Noelani’s father Lucky was moved to Dolphin Connection. Just about one year later Noelani’s halfsister Kaylee unfortunately had to be euthanized since she was very ill.
On August 30th 2009 Noelani, Tapeko and Allison were moved to Minnesota Zoo since Brookfield Zoo's dolphinarium was going to be re-built. They lived there until April 14th 2010 when they were moved back to Brookfield Zoo together with one of Minnesota Zoo's dolphins; Spree. Today Noelani lives at Brookfield Zoo with Tapeko, Allison, Spree and Chinook.
