Betty
was captured in 1983 and was born in 1981. She arrived at Kolmården’s
dolphinarium in 1993 together with Lotty and Sharky. Before they came to
Kolmården the three females lived at Flamingoland, but they were moved because
Flamingoland’s dolphinarium was closed. Sharky and Lotty gave birth to their
first calves soon after they arrived at Kolmården, but Betty did not. After a
few years she was moved to Gardaland in Italy where she currently lives. On
October 28th 2001 she gave birth to her first calf, a female named
Nau, and in 2005 Betty gave birth to her second calf, a male named Tango. Unfortunately Tango passed away in October 2008 but just about two months later Betty gave birth to her third calf, a female named Mia. Today Betty lives together with her daughters Nau and Mia and two males named Robin and Teide.
