Naluark was born in 1986 and was captured when he was about 6 years old, on August 14th 1992. I August/September 2008 he was moved from Shedd Aquarium to Mystic Aquarium since Shedd was going to re-build its beluga centre. Naluark had lived at Mystic Aquarium before and he was the first of Shedd Aquarium’s belugas that was introduced to Mystic Aquairum’s own belugas (he was introduced on October 2nd 2008). In the spring of 2009 Naluark and the rest of Shedd Aquarium's belugas were moved back to Shedd Aquarium. Naluark is the father of Shedd Aquarium’s three youngest belugas; Bella who was born in 2006, Miki born in 2007 and Puiji's calf born in 2009.
Naluark measures 3,96 meters and weighs 816,5 meters (weight and length 2007). His name means “whitened skin”. Today Naluark is participating in Shedd Aquarium's show "Fantasea".
