Piquet
was born in 1988 and is the youngest of Shedd Aquarium’s pacific white-sided
dolphins. She arrived at Shedd Aquarium in 1994 together with Katrl and a male
named Quitz (deceased). In August/September 2008 Piquet was moved to Mystic Aquarium together with the rest of the pacific white-sided dolphins from Shedd Aquarium since Shedd Aquarium was going to be re-built. The four dolphins lived at Mystic until spring 2009 when Piquet and Katrl were moved back to Shedd Aquarium and Kri and Tique were moved to Miami Seaquarium. Piquet measures 1,9 meters and
weighs 90,7 kilograms (weight and length 2008). Her name means “female of small
stature”.
