Lara was
born on February 8th 2001 at Kamogawa Seaworld and is the daughter
of Stella and Bingo. At birth she measured 2 meters and weighed 170 kilograms.
When Lara was about 2 years old, in May 2003, she got a little sister named
Sarah and less than three years later she got another little sister named Ran
II. When Ran II was born both Lara and her sister Lovey were with Stella during
the birth. In April 2006 Sarah unfortunately passed away after being ill for
almost a year. About two and a half years later, in October 2008, Lovey gave
birth to her first calf and Lara was the first orca to meet the little calf.
Today Lara
lives together with her parents Stella and Bingo, her sisters Lovey and Ran II
and Lovey’s calf Earth plus the male Oscar.
