Delphi was captured April 6th 1989, when she was 6 years old. She arrived to Kolmården Zoo December 28th 1994, together with Nephele. Before they arrived to Kolmården they lived at Carl Hagenbeck Tierpark, a zoo in Germany that no longer has dolphins. Already during the spring 1995 Delphi gave birth to a calf but unfortunately this calf did not survive. In 1996, on the other hand, Delphi gave birth to another calf that was named Dino. Today Dino lives at Zoomarine in Portugal where he has lived since he left Kolmården in 2003. Unfortunately he was Delphi’s only surviving calf.
Delphi was easy to recognize by her light colour and many
scars and on her left side her teeth was outside the mouth, which did that she
looked very cute. During the summer 2006 Delphi got pregnant, but unfortunately
she died July 5th 2007 when she gave birth to a stillborn calf.
