Sharky
was born in 1982 and was captured a few years later. She was given her name
because she was attacked by sharks when she was little. She came to Kolmården
Zoo on March 9th 1993 toghether with Lotty and Betty. They all came
from an English dolphinarium, Flamoingoland, and were the last dolphins there.
Sharky gave birth to her first calf, Daphne, in 1994 and Lotty gave birth to
her first calf, Lotus, in 1995. After a few years Betty was moved to Gardaland
in Italy. In 2001 or 2002 Sharky gave birth to her second calf, Max, who
unfortunately passed away after 1 or 2 years. On April 3rd 2005
Sharky was moved to Marineland Antibes together with Lotty and Lotty’s son
Fenix. In 2006 Sharky’s daughter Daphne passed away at Kolmården Zoo, but in
January 2007 Sharky gave birth to her third calf Mila-Tami! Sharky lives with
Mila-Tami and 6 of Marineland’s other dolphins in one of the dolphin centres
and she participates in the dolphin show. Sharky gave birth to a calf on March 30th 2010.
