Tique was born in 1985 and was captured on October 11th 1988. Before she arrived at Shedd Aquarium she lived several years at Mote Marine Lab together with several other pacific white-sided dolphins and several bottlenose dolphins and during her time there she was called Twelve. In 1995 Tique gave birth to her first calf but unfortunately it did not survive. Eight years later, in 2003, Tique gave birth to another calf but unfortunately this calf did not survive either. In fall 2008 Tique and the rest of Shedd Aquarium's cetaceans were moved to Mystic Aquarium since Shedd Aquarium was going to be re-built. The four pacific white-sided dolphins lived at Mystic until spring 2009 when Tique and Kri were moved to Miami Seaquarium where they currently are living together with Liko, Loke, Li'i and Lolita. Tique measures 1,89 meters and weighs 95 kilograms (weight and length 2008) and her name means “born in water”.
