Athena
was born on July 28th 1993 at Parc Asterix. Her mother Amaya and
father Pichi had lived at Parc Asterix for 5 years and Athena was the first
dolphin to be born there. When Athena was 3 years old her little sister Aya was
born and 3 years after that Athena and Aya got a little brother, Peos. In 2002
Athena gave birth to her first calf, a female named Thais. Unfortunately Thais
passed away when she was 4 years old (2006). In August 2004 Athena gave birth
to her second calf, Mininos, who is currently living at Planete’ Sauvage and
the same year Athena’s mother Amaya passed away.
The
father of Athena’s calves was her own father Pichi who was moved to Kolmården
Zoo in October 2005. The following year both Athena and her daughter Thais
unfortunately passed away.
