Särkänniemi’s
first dolphins arrived in 1985, the same year as the dolphinarium was opened.
Three of the dolphins still live at Särkänniemi together with the two dolphin
calves that have been born at Särkänniemi. When the dolphinarium opened it had
3 pools, 1 show pool and two smaller pools, but in 2006/2007 a new pool was
built. Today there are 5 dolphins in the dolphinarium and there are between 1
to 5 shows a day.
