Halyn was born on October 9th 2005 at Seaworld San Antonio and is the daughter of Kayla and Keet. Since Halyn's mother did not take care of her Halyn was moved to the centre Animal Care where the orca trainers took care of her and fed her every other hour with a mixture that consisted of, for example, milk from Halyn's mother Kayla. While living in Animal Care Halyn got company by a female bottlenose dolphin. In January 2006 Halyn was named and her name means "unique, unlike any other". The same month she also was moved back to Shamu Stadium. For two and a half years Halyn lived in the centre Shamu Stadium before she unfortunately passed away on June 15th 2008 due to encephalitis. Halyn measured 3.4 meters and weighed 818 kilograms (weight and length 2008).
