Relatives: mother Hana, father Teri and the halfsister Akita

Jozu was born on September 3^rd 1994 at Seaworld Orlando and is the daughter of Hana and Teri. When Jozu was born she already had a halfsister, Akita, who had been born in December 1993 and when Jozu’s mother passed away in 1996 Akita’s mother Suki took care of Jozu. Unfortunately Akita passed away just two years later (in 1998) and in 2002 Jozu’s father Teri, who was the only male false killer whale at Seaworld Orlando, passed away too. After this the park just had three false killer whales: Jozu, Suki and Cassie but in 2005 Suki unfortunately passed away too. Jozu and Cassie continued to together participate in Seaworld Orlando’s dolphin shows for several years until Cassie unfortunately passed away in December 2008,

Today Jozu is the only false killer whale at Seaworld Orlando and that makes her very easy to recognize. Currently she is living together with 12 bottlenose dolphins in the centre Whale and Dolphin Theater where she has lived for her whole life.
