Juan was
captured on November 23rd 1983 and probably arrived at Seaworld San
Diego the same year. He is the father of the first Commerson dolphin born in
captivity; Jacob born on February 21st 1985, and also of the second
Commerson dolphin born in captivity; J.B. born on July 10th 1987.
Juan is also the father of five other Commerson dolphins of which four are
alive and one unfortunately is deceased. Jacob and J.B. are unfortunately
deceased too.
Today
Juan lives together with two Commerson dolphin females named Betsy and Ringer
and he is probably the father of Betsy’s latest calf born on June 19th
2009. Unfortunately this calf is probably deceased.
